Non Corrugated Steel Containers
What are Non Corrugated Steel Containers?
Containers strong enough to withstand shipment, storage, and handling range from large reusable steel boxes used for intermodal shipments to corrugated boxes. Those containers that need to survive long-distance travel and transfer between modes of transportation are usually made of corrugated steel, which is sheet metal that has been rolled into a parallel wave pattern that improve strength, stiffness and rigidity.
Non corrugated steel containers are less expensive as they do not require any corrugation processes. They are constructed with straight sheet metal and do not need any additional processing other than the application of an anti-rust (anti-corrosion) treatment.
Shipping containers are usually made to a standardized size and weight, so warehouses and shippers can use standardized equipment to move them. They are mostly used for ground and/or sea transportation – that is why they have an intermodal designation.
