Nets
Definition: What are Nets?
Nets in material handling are designed to protect people (and businesses that employ them) from injuries caused by falling objects (or individual employees’ falls). Some of these injuries can be fatal, all of them are costly – both in human suffering and financially.
Netting systems (as they are also called in the industry) come in barrier and partition configurations, as well as guards to protect racks, pallets, and conveyors against product damage.
In many cases, the netting consists of a number of meshes. These are extruded, oriented, expanded, woven or tubular. Plastic materials such as polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, PVC or PTFE are used most commonly to manufacture these safety devices.
