Drum Barrel
Definition: What is a Drum Barrel?
A container resembling a drum, with curved sides, and a circular top and bottom is known as a barrel.
In addition, several industries use barrels as a unit measurement that defines how much material can be held inside a round, large container.
In warehouse context, the former definition applies more often than the latter. A barrel is defined as a large cylindrical container. It is usually made of staves bound together with hoops, featuring a flat top and bottom of equal diameter. It is often called a drum because of its similarity to cylindrical containers made of metal.
