How to find Hyster forklift serial number
The easiest way to find the serial number on a Hyster forklift is by locating the nameplate, also known as a data tag. This metal plate is attached to your forklift and displays important information about the truck. See the example below.
Information on a forklift nameplate or data tag
The forklift nameplate includes:
- Maximum lifting capacity
- Weight of the forklift
- Forklift model number
- Serial number
On a Hyster forklift, the nameplate resembles the photo above and is typically found near the dashboard. See below.
Referring to the nameplate is the quickest and simplest method for locating the forklift’s serial number.
What to do if the forklift nameplate is worn, damaged, or unreadable
If the nameplate is damaged, worn out, or unreadable, don’t worry. In many cases, the forklift’s serial number can still be found in the electronics system or stamped on the frame as a numerical metal stamp.
