Barpro Storage uses Storax mobile racking for a recently completed car storage system.
This car storage system was installed 12 years ago and consisted of 3 cantilever mobiles designed to take any size and weight of car. The longest ever stored was a 7 metre (23 foot) Cadillac and the heaviest was 2200 kgs (4,840 lbs). When the facility was moved to a new warehouse in 2011 the mobiles came too, although they were lengthened in the process. Another 3 mobiles were added to the existing system increasing the capacity of the new store to just over 300 cars. The new mobiles used pallet racking with a 5600 mm (220 inch) bay pitch. Special box beams made by a local racking company were required to cope with the deflection. The moving aisles exceed 6 metres (20 feet approx) to allow for 3.5 ton counterbalance forklift and the cars rest on specially made skids.
