How to Store Wine Densely Using Mobile Pallet Racking

Here is an idea on how to store wine densely in a warehouse.  Solving the problem of space and long term storage in a cooled environment, Barpro Storage used Storaz mobile pallet

rack bases to increase the wine warehouse storage capacity while preserving selectivity.

Using 14 mobile bases, racking was installed in an air conditioned wine storage warehouse just outside Cape Town 7 years ago.  The mobiles were designed for wooden crates and pallets.  With 4 levels in the racking, every unit load is immediately accessible which is important here as there are different vintages, labels and varieties.  Initially it was thought that the movement of the mobiles might affect the wine quality.  Investigations revealed that wine was already being stored on mobiles in the UK after blind tastings had shown no difference in taste or quality.
