Cat Lift Trucks sells parts and remanufactured components to its customers. It has over 600 dealer locations, and also offers a comprehensive lift truck support program. CAT trucks meet American National Standards Institute (ANSI/ITSDF) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. It has added features to increase operator comfort and control.

Caterpillar Safety Services helps organizations train employees in best industry practices to create a safer work environment. It offers training in fatigue management, safety technologies, and more.

CAT Lift Trucks meets EPA Tier 4 emission regulation standards for all diesel forklifts. Its electric forklifts give customers a way to shrink fleet emissions, lower fuel expenses, and reduce maintenance frequency. Electric models have less vibration and give the operator a more comfortable ride than gas-powered units

History of CAT Lift Trucks

In 1992, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries entered into a joint venture with Caterpillar Inc. The company had been designing and manufacturing heavy equipment since before the First World War.

Founder Benjamin Holt was one of the first steam tractor designers. He wrapped tractor wheels with planks to increase traction. The resulting machinery crawled through the earth like a caterpillar, and the name stuck.

Caterpillar Inc. makes construction and mining equipment. It is famous for its longevity and durability. The machinery comes in trademark “Caterpillar Yellow” and carries the CAT symbol. In 2009, Caterpillar was ranked number one in its industry.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries started in Japan in 1934. It manufactured ships, heavy machinery, airplanes, and railroad cars. As Japanese technology improved, the company entered the aerospace industry.

Cat Lift Trucks’ North American manufacturing facility is set on 42 acres in Houston, Texas. The manufacturing facility is 680,000 sq. ft., and uses high-tech fabrication methods. It also uses advanced technology to make products that are rugged and long-lasting. The Houston facility is ISO9001:2008 quality systems- and ISO 14001:2004 environmental systems-certified.
