Turret Trucks
A turret truck is defined as an operator-up, very-narrow-aisle truck (VNA) pallet carrying counterbalanced fork truck with an articulating carriage allowing the forks to rotate 180⁰ within the storage aisle. By rotating the forks sideways and not the entire truck, the turret truck can store and retrieve pallets in a very narrow aisles as small as about 60” depending on the length of the load. These trucks are used in applications where storage density needs to be balanced with access to every pallet position.
The main mast can lift the operator to heights of up to about 40 feet. This means the driver sits within the carriage of the turret truck, getting a clear view of the pallet. This helps improve handling times.
Turret trucks typically use a wire guidance system to control steering within an aisle allowing the operator to concentrate on moving pallets in and out of racking.
