Bollard
Definition: What is a Bollard?
A bollard is a short post that is used to either identify or flag a location. These signs are used in a warehouse to guide traffic or protect sensitive areas. Bollards provide efficient and helpful visual barriers for both pedestrian and vehicles in an industrial or production setting. They can be used singly or in a series that to demarcate extended boundaries.
Used correctly, bollards play a key role in regulating vehicle traffic. They also ensure clear sight lines and promote optimized pedestrian flow.
Bollards are designed to withstand high-impact collisions. They can be made with metal piping made from structural grade steel. Bollards are embedded with concrete and sometime are reinforced with it as well.
There are two kinds of bollards: bolt-down and flexible types.
