Base Pallet
Definition: What is a Base Pallet?
Stringer and some block pallets that have single-directional bases are called base pallets.
Their bottom boards are oriented in one direction. They are a part of pallet family, flat transport structures that help keep the loaded product stable when it is lifted by the appropriate warehouse machine, including forklifts, pallet jacks, front loaders as well as a number of related lifting equipment.
Base pallets need specially-designed equipment for handling, as most such equipment operates faster and with more efficiency when both bottom edges of a pallet have bottom boards oriented both ways.
