How to find Hyster forklift serial number
The best way to locate the serial number on a Hyster forklift is to find the nameplate, which is also called a data tag. This handy metal plate is affixed to your forklift and displays various information about your forklift truck. See example, below.
Information on a forklift nameplate or data tag
The forklift nameplate contains:
- How much a forklift can lift,
- How much the forklift weighs
- Forklift model number
- Serial number
On a Hyster forklift, the nameplate looks like the photo above and is often found near the dashboard. See below.
Referencing the nameplate is the fastest and easiest way to locate the forklift’s serial number.
What to do if forklift nameplate is worn, damaged or unreadable
If the nameplate is worn, damaged or unreadable, then all is not lost. In many cases a forklift’s serial number can be located in the electronics system. It can also be found on its frame as a numerical metal stamp.
