5 Best Warehouse Storage Solutions for Your Business

January 10, 2020 by WIQ Editor

forkliftIn contemporary business communities, every organization has the storage needs for placing, assembling, organizing, and retrieving the stocks. The warehouse managers know exactly what type of stocks business needs to hold and the frequency of that. Learn a few of warehouse storage solutions that are designed to allow smooth storing and moving of goods.

Static Shelves

The shelving is fairly a self-explanatory need of businesses to store raw materials and finished products. The goods are placed on static shelves so they can be retrieved without going through the hassle. It’s an efficient and easy to access warehouse idea. The idea is more applicable for SMEs that have needs of manual picking and placement of products like agriculture goods, machine parts, and clothing. The static shelves are not suitable for businesses who wish to store heavy materials and products. Generally, two types of static shelves are used; short span shelving is suitable to stock smaller and adjustable items, whereas long span shelving is suitable to for large units who wish to stock bigger items.

Multi-Tier Racking

The multi-tier racking is suitable for businesses that have vertically designed the storage spaces. It attempts to stock larger stocks within the small-sized unit. It’s a great idea to capitalize on limited space by enabling the facilities to add or remove tiers depending on the businesses’ needs. The multi-tier racking is light-weight but holds columns that are heightened and the ladder is required to access the raw materials and finished products. You get to manage the stocks manually.

Pallet Racking

This racking system is the best storage solution that offers placement efficiency, speedy access to products, and quick selection of stocks to deliver into the market. The pallet racking system is an essential logistics need for supply chain units. Store managers get to store the materials on the skids. The pallets are commonly made of metal, wood, or plastic. This racking system is quite heightened and requires forklifts to place, organize, and access the stocks on pallets. The idea is best suited for the items that need to be stored and packed in boxes and primarily aim for inventory logging.

Wall-Mounted Shelves

Upon hearing the word “wall-mounted,” you might have thought that it’s something rustic or wood shelves that you use to place items in your kitchen. Although they are pretty decent and fulfill the household needs, but I am going to talk about wire wall-mounted shelves. They are built to serve the diverse commercial needs to store the expensive businesses’ stocks formally. You get to decisively hang them on the walls to better facility the shipping and receiving needs. This storage solution offers easy access to supplies like toolboxes, gloves, protection glasses, and hard hats.

Mezzanine Flooring

If you have got the money and the layout of your warehouse space permits you, then mezzanine flooring is probably the most effective warehouse solution. It’s best suited to save larger space by constructing 4 to 5 floors. Since mezzanine flooring builds on the main warehouse floor so, it’s an expensive idea. It is suggested that businesses who hold big budgets and have massive storage needs. It tends to provide customized features such as lift-systems, lighting, and conveyors.
