NEWS: Jungheinrich Top Green Supply Chain Partner
Food Logistics named Jungheinrich as one of the top 20 Green Supply Chain Partners for 2011.
Readers of Food Logistics are invited to nominate each year a provider that has developed pioneering, innovative and creative products, services and programs to help their customers in the foodservice industry achieve sustainable or “green” goals. Jungheinch was nominated for its sustainability efforts and focus on developing energy-efficient products and solutions for the grocery and foodservice industries, including Electric Counterbalanced Forklift Trucks, Moving Mast Reach Trucks and Walkie and Walkie End-riders.
Its proprietary 3-phase AC technology reclaims otherwise wasted mechanical energy from braking and load lowering, and feeds it back to the battery in electrical form. Jungheinrich’s AC-powered electric trucks also produce zero emissions, providing another benefit for customers seeking to reduce their overall carbon footprint.
“We’re honored to have Jungheinrich selected by the readers of Food Logistics as one of the ‘Top 20 Green Supply Partners,’” said Perry Ardito, general manager of the Jungheinrich Warehouse Product Group at Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA). “It is our responsibility to develop and provide solutions that allow customers to be more energy efficient and eco-friendly, ensuring a cleaner home for future generations.” The Food Logistics ‘Top 20 Green Supply Chain Partners’ recognition is an annual award coordinated by members of the Food Logistics magazine editorial staff. Award recipients are determined based on nominations received from the readers of Food Logistics magazine.
